ICP – Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force
DECA was instrumental in bringing together commissioners, councilmen and police from three area jurisdictions to tackle public safety issues found along Shallowford and Chamblee-Tucker Roads.
These two roadways define DECA’s northwestern boundaries. Common public saftey concerns in the area should be reduced by now having the Chamblee, Doraville, and DeKalb Police Departments coordinating efforts initiated through this multi-jurisdictional Task Force.
DECA thanks the policy makers who came together to make this task force a reality, and of course, the officers involved in making our neighborhoods a better place to live.
Operations carried out by this task force include:
- May 2 code sweep at Motel 6
- May 9 traffic stops on Shallowford and Chamblee Tucker
- May 14 gambling house shutdown
- May 21 code sweep on Shallowford Rd – south end
- May 23 code sweep on Shallowford Rd – north end
- June 10 code sweep – Surrey Neighborhood
- July 4 code sweep / arrest- 2865 Shallowford Rd
– August 6 street sweep / arrests on Shallowford and Chamblee-Tucker Rd
To be sure, the ICP unit should be given our deepest appreciation for taking the responsibility to create the Task Force, and drive its efforts.
