The “Get Ready! Preparing Your Community for a Disaster” program is a 1½ hour class which DeKalb Fire-Rescue brings to community groups. It covers the basics in preparedness, such as identifying the risks in your community, key facts about disasters, citizen preparedness before, during and after a disaster, as well as how to put together a three-day emergency supply kit for each member of your family and for your pets.
DeKalb County is home to many natural disasters, from ice and snow storms, to floods, tornadoes, tropical storms, and heat waves. We need to be prepared for any eventuality.
