Transform And Beautify Along Shallowford Corridor

About TABASCO

TABASCO consists of stakeholders that live or work in and around the Shallowford Road interchange with I-85, in an area that has been defined by DeKalb County as a neighborhood center. TABASCO has taken on the task of defining what that neighborhood center should look like in the future.

We envision a safe, attractive, economically prosperous village which expresses our distinctive community identity. We support responsible, planned redevelopment that celebrates the natural environment, provides local opportunities for work and play, and helps builds community for all ages and cultures. We value quality schools, businesses that serve community needs, alternatives to automobiles, and “green” as both an appearance and a way of life.
This is a working draft of the vision statement.

RE-IMAGINING SHALLOWFORD – Public meeting #2

When

8:30 registration & coffee; 9-noon meeting, St Pius High School, 2674 Johnson Rd NE, Atlanta 30345

Where

St Pius High School
2674 Johnson Rd NE, Atlanta 30345.

The May 22 meeting was a good beginning; on June 19 we dig deeper. We began to form a Vision of our “village”; a subgroup has tried to coalesce the many visions into one vision for review on June19. We will also review a summary of the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknessses, Opportunities, Threats) exercise from May 22. Then participants, in small groups, will talk about how that Vision Statement breaks down into details, like what it means in terms of land use, transit, parks, etc. We’ll end with a “Road Map” to implementation of the Vision.

Please COME AGAIN if you attended the first meeting!
Please COME EVEN IF you didn’t attend May 22; there should be enough review to bring you up-to-speed.
